Thinking of a Holiday in Tropical Vanuatu...

Vanuatu is a Y-shaped archipelago in the South Pacific and is made up of some 80 islands, with a group of islands stretching over a distance of 900 kilometres.

Being located on the Pacific rim of fire, Vanuatu consists of a young chain of rugged volcanic islands. There are several permanently active volcanoes here, and they are easily accessible, so it makes for an unforgettable holiday experience.

Vanuatu has a population of around 220,000 with the majority being of Melanesian origin. It has a blend of intact travel community infused with a rich English and French influence.

The people of Vanuatu are extremely friendly, and with the Happy Planet Index voting it the happiest country on Earth, once you visit there, it is easy to see why with the laid back lifestyle and abundance of smiles everywhere you go.

Vanuatu is easily accessible by air and is situated very close to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. It’s a very safe and amazing destination with so much to see and do. There are many exciting adventures and activities for every kind of traveller. Its pristine white sand beaches give way to an amazing underwater playground with wrecks from World War II, the islands of Vanuatu are a diver’s dream come true.

Most of the islands offer all kinds of water activities due to the perfect water temperature year round and the huge array of fish and sea life.

Above the water, you can experience Vanuatu however you like. You could choose a horseback ride along the beach, zip from village to market in an open buggy, or leave it to one of the many fantastic tour companies who can guide you to waterfalls and trek through lush rainforest. The choice is endless.

Finding accommodation in Vanuatu is all so simple. Whatever your budget, you can definitely find something to make this your perfect escape. If you’re after a private, relaxing getaway, many islands offer beachfront bungalows with whimsical water views, or you could choose to stay at one of the many three, four or five star resorts. Don’t worry if that is a little out of your price range, there are many smaller resorts and apartments to choose from, even backpackers and the newest style of accommodation, flash backers.

Vanuatu is a must see destination and all the family will have a great time here. It’s the perfect place to chill out by the pool, mix with the locals or even go on an all-out adventure. I’m Amelia Armistead in the happiest place on Earth.
